Ms. Karume has more than 20 years’ experience in civil/commercial litigation and arbitration. She has authored several papers on civil litigation in Tanzania. Recently she was part of the team responsible for drafting the new commercial court procedure rules for the Commercial Division of the High Court of Tanzania and she writes providing analysis and commentary on matters touching upon the rule of law in Tanzania in various widely circulated English language newspapers in Tanzania.

Ms. Karume is associated with various landmark judgments of the Court of Appeal and the High Court of Tanzania. She presently heads a successful Litigation Practice at IMMMA Advocates handling in excess of 200 cases ranging from the Court of Appeal of Tanzania, the various High Court registries, the Fair Competition Tribunal and resident magistrates’ courts.

  • Admitted to the bar of Mainland Tanzania, the Tanganyika Law Society (2000).
