Qualified in 1994, Malcolm Dowden is an experienced lawyer, and also an accredited legal training provider with a strong background in corporate, commercial and property law and practice. Malcolm currently combines a role as consultant to international commercial law firm Charles Russell Speechly LLP with legal and professional training courses in a range of jurisdictions as Director of Law Programmes at Law2020 LLP. Malcolm was also invited to join a multi-disciplinary team assembled by PriceWaterhouseCoopers to produce a report for the London Climate Change Partnership on the scope for using public procurement to promote climate change adaptation.
Malcolm is a regular speaker at property and ‘built environment’ conferences in the UK and abroad, with particular expertise in infrastructure, land rights, energy efficiency, environmental regulation and “Smart City” projects. During 2013 – 14 Malcolm has been lead training consultant to the Law Society of England and Wales international Division, designing and delivering training sessions in a wide range of jurisdictions including India, Singapore, United Arab Emirates, Papua New Guinea. Recent sessions have included Public Private Partnership masterclasses focusing on infrastructure and communications projects in Nigeria, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.
