Director at Rockpools – a retained international executive recruitment firm (UK)
Mohan leads the private sector practice and has worked with various organisations in various industries including professional services, outsourcing, and IT services. Much of his work is in emerging markets, predominantly Africa, where he has been hiring to senior roles for clients in a variety of other sectors including FMCG, retail, electronic security, and real estate. And this work has been in various countries including Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, DRC, Cameroon, Angola and Libya. Other countries where he has handled recruitment work include the USA, Malaysia, Italy and Ireland.
Pior to this was a Recruitment Director at EY focusing on Corporate Finance and Partner and Director hires, and helping develop a broad range of advisory, consulting and markets-focused offerings through hiring teams from scratch.
In his earlier career, he was at PwC in their Executive Search & Selection practice. He was a generalist with regard to senior recruitment, and also has particular experience of human resources, diversity, change management, corporate finance and Non-Executive Director appointments.
He joined the firm in August 1997 after working at the London Borough of Hillingdon in the UK. He managed the corporate personnel team, and in particular developed a range of employment policies which sought to ensure that the Council’s services were more sensitive to its customers.
Prior to this he was at Gloucestershire County Council in the County Personnel Department, and he ‘cut his teeth’ in the area of organisational change and equal opportunities issues at a Race Equality Council.
An Economics graduate from Jesus College, Cambridge, Mohan also has a Masters in Race Relations from Bristol University and is a Corporate Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development. Mohan is a Board Member of Noting Hill Housing Group, one of the large London-based housing associations.
Outside work, Mohan is an active member of his local church. He is a keyboard player, and has a passionate interest in soul and jazz music – and in fact runs (and plays in) a soul band called Soul Conviction. He enjoys international travel and maintaining the tropical style garden which he and his wife and two children have painstakingly created for those all too few UK long hot summer days.
