Patrick Loch Otieno graduated with a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Nairobi in 1985 and with a Masters of Law from the same university in 1989. Five years later, he graduated with a PhD in law from the University of Ghent, Belgium. Lumumba has beaten many odds to be in the struggle for justice, political and social emancipation of Kenyans. He began his working life with Waruihiu & Muite advocates in 1986. He lectured at the United States International University, Nairobi and the University of Nairobi, among other institutions. Lumumba recalls how Samuel Ogango inspired him when he visited him at his law firm in 1975. He was impressed by the man’s good English and wanted to be just like him. In 1990, he founded the PLO Lumumba Foundation. He was once secretary of Constitution of Kenya Review Commission. He also served as the Director of Kenya Anti-corruption Commission from September 2010-August 2011. He is also former Director of Kenya Anti-Corruption Commission.
